Denver Foothills – Best Places to Live and Things to Do – Realtor Evergreen, CO

Where to Live in the Denver Foothills

The foothills are a wonderful place to live. The small towns are charming and offer a slower pace of life that is hard to find in the city. The homes here are generally less expensive than the homes in Denver, and there are plenty of parks and open space for recreation. The first thing to consider when looking for a home in the foothills is what you’re looking for. Do you need a starter home or something more luxurious? If you want something larger, then you can find many beautiful family homes in either Centennial or Littleton. If you want something smaller but still has all the amenities, then look in Evergreen, Conifer, Golden, Bailey Morrison or Lakewood. For those who love being close to nature, there are some great communities like Piney Creek that have lots of green space and walking trails.

Where to Go Out in the Denver Foothills

The Denver foothills give you the best of both worlds: a cool, relaxed vibe and close proximity to the city. Here are some restaurants, bars and coffee shops to check out while visiting. 1) Cherokee Street Café. This is a cozy little spot with a nice outdoor seating area and delicious food. I love their breakfast burrito and their waffles! 2) Hugo’s Cellar. You can always find live music here on weekends as well as a great selection of wine. 3) The Foothills Urgent Care. This is an excellent place for when you need to be seen by a doctor ASAP, but don’t want to head all the way into Denver for it! 4) Turn in Coffee Roasters. This is one of my favorite spots in Denver. It has the most incredible lattes, which I love with two shots of espresso! 5) The Book Cliffs Nature Preserve. Located just off Hwy 40A , this is one of our favorite places to go hiking in Colorado during the warmer months. It offers outstanding views of the Rocky Mountains and access to some beautiful trails that wind along creeks and through open grasslands as well as more heavily forested areas

Which Neighborhood Should I Live in?

There are a number of neighborhoods in the Denver foothills, but they’re all connected. One neighborhood might be more desirable than another, depending on your needs. If you’re looking for a quiet cul-de-sac with mature trees and a lawn, then the Country Club neighborhood might be perfect for you. This is an upscale area with many homes over $1 million. The Country Club has an 18-hole golf course that’s open to the public and has been voted as one of the top courses in Colorado. If you want to live in a more rural setting, then consider living in the Morrison or Pine Valley area. These areas have lower priced homes and less traffic than other neighborhoods in the foothills. Speaking of which, if you work from home or need access to good schools, then Morrison or Pine Valley may not be for you—the schools here are considered below average compared to other parts of Denver.

What You Should Know Before Moving to the Denver Foothills

The Denver foothills hold a lot of potential for those who are looking to buy a home in the area. If you’re thinking of moving to the Denver foothills, here are some things you should know before you make the move:
1. There’s a wide variety of neighborhoods in the foothills. Depending on your lifestyle, this can be an excellent benefit or a drawback. You might love the idea of being close to nature, but then again, maybe you live for an active nightlife scene and would rather live downtown. It all depends on what matters most to you!
2. There’s great hiking right out your front door. If you’re into outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking or skiing, the Denver foothills are perfect for you! You can find trails that range from easy to difficult and there’s something for everyone because many hikes go through different ecosystems including prairies and forested areas as well as giving gorgeous views of the city on clear days.
3. The weather is much more mild than it is in other parts of Colorado. For people who don’t like dealing with snow and ice during winter months, this is a good thing! The weather typically ranges from 50-75 degrees F year-round so it never gets too hot or too cold which can be tough depending on where you’re coming from!

Where to Find the Best Views in the Denver Foothills

There are some fabulous views of Denver to be found in the foothills. It’s true that you can see the city from most points, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some special spots. Take a drive up Tennyson road and take in the view from Mt. Evans Road. You’ll be able to see miles and miles of Colorado, the city skyline and some fantastic wildflowers. Cache la Poudre Canyon is also one of the best places to watch the sunset or sunrise with your loved one (or just enjoy it by yourself). The other great thing about living in these mountains is that you get out into nature, which is always a good thing! There are plenty of trails to hike on, wildlife viewing opportunities, and parks to explore as well. The wildlife viewing can be limited during hunting season when hunters use these areas as their prime hunting grounds, so make sure you follow safe practices if you plan on exploring any of these areas during those times.

The Best Activities in the Denver Foothills

The foothills are perfect for activities that can’t be found in the city. You can go hiking, bike riding, horseback riding and even gold panning. There are plenty of waterfalls to explore, too. You can also check out some of the local attractions like art galleries or live theater. Whatever you choose to do, it’s always good to stay a little longer than you had originally planned so you can enjoy everything that the foothills have to offer!

Why is Everyone Moving to The Denver Foothills?

The Denver foothills are an ideal place for people to live and work. The cost of living is lower, the neighborhoods are safe, there are plenty of home options, and it’s a short drive from downtown Denver! In addition to all these benefits, the area has beautiful landscaping with lots of green space, gorgeous mountain views in every direction, and a pristine environment.
