Cherry Hills Village is an enclave of about 1,200 residents that’s tucked away in the foothills about 20 minutes north of downtown Denver. It's most known for its abundance of cherry trees and vineyards, but this Front Range community offers much more than first meets the eye. Cherry Hills Village was designed as a resort-style retirement community almost from day one. The town sits at an elevation of 5,300 feet above sea level, making it one of the highest communities in the area. A variety of activities are available throughout the year for residents of Cherry Hills Village including regular public events and private members-only clubs and organizations. From golf to gardening to book clubs, there’s something for everyone here!
The beginning of Cherry Hills Village dates back to the 1930s, when two brothers bought a large piece of land near a creek in the foothills of Denver. As time passed, the country club was built in Cherry Hills Village, which was initially established in the 1950s. It took decades for the wilderness to be transformed into residential areas and the country club. In 1960, the first residents moved in as Cherry Hills Village grew and expanded. In the early 1970s, Englewood annexed Cherry Hills Village, which has since turned into a popular location for young families seeking a smaller, less urbanized setting than the city. The town's population is diverse, with retirees, young couples with children, and other residents.
